At Craft CXM, we are lucky enough to partner with some of the best technologies in the CX space and as such, we’re often asked our opinion on technology vendors… Sure there are a number of reports, quadrants, and reviews for the platforms which, depending on the report, gives a differing point of view. As such, we wanted to start a conversation to help people form more informed opinions about the market. The next in our series is HCL Software.
HCL Software is the software product division of HCL Tech. Whilst HCL Tech have had various versions of Software (DSL Software etc.), HCL Software was officially introduced to the market in 2019 following the catalogue acquisition of several products from IBM. HCL Software now exceeds 60 unique offerings across their catalogue with many offerings consisting of multiple modules within. With such a wide range HCL Software aim to cater all Software requirements so for the purpose of our Spotlight Series, we’ll focus on a few of the offerings available:
- HCL Unica. Originally created in 1992 by MIT classmates Yuchun Lee, Ruby Kennedy, and David Cheung, UNICA is generally seen as the introduction to Enterprise Marketing Management solutions during the 90s. The Unica platform consists of 4 main modules, Campaign, Interact, Optimize and Plan. Unica remains an enterprise grade fully automated marketing software suite.
- HCL Marketing Cloud. Engineered on the Unica platform HCL Marketing Cloud is aimed at empowering marketers in planning, executing and analysing omni-channel personalised conversations to customers. Being engineered on the Unica platform, modules such as Deliver & Journey all connect seamlessly with core Unica modules.
- HCL CDP. Built alongside the Unica platform, HCL CDP has been introduced to analyse and centralise data from multiple touchpoints, creating full 360° customer view in real-time that enables hyper personalisation at scale.
- HCL Discover. A deep behavioural analytics & insights solution across the digital customer journey. Complete with powerful session replay’s, struggle analytics, event data capture, and customisable analytics HCL Discover is a strong capable tool across web analytics.
With such a wide product set, HCL Software have offerings widely used in the market globally across a range of sectors. Focussing in on the highlighted products, Unica has long been successful across Large & Enterprise organisations where highly complex data environments exist. A high number of Financial, Telco & regulatory bound clients form the legacy core of clients for Unica. Both Discover and Marketing Cloud offerings also lean into the mid-large size organisations with strong use-case offerings into the Retail, Insurance and Digital based organisations.
